WHen pollination occurs in a flower, what else happens at the same time?
I hope a teacher didn%26#039;t set this question, because it is so badly worded ...

None of these is precisely true. Pollination is the transfer of pollen from the stamens to the stigma (which can happen many ways, some active and some passive). Before fertilization happens, the pollen must germinate on the stigma and the pollen tube must grow down the style to the ovule. When the pollen tube reaches the ovule and enters it, the 2 sperm nuclei are released. It is here that the question was meant to ask %26quot;When fertilization occurs in a flower, what else happens at the same time?%26quot; The answer is that the second nucleus from the pollen tube fuses with two %26quot;polar nuclei%26quot; to form a [usually] triploid nucleus that divides repeatedly and becomes the endosperm.

So the answer is probably supposed to be %26quot;C%26quot;
